Public Utilities Office on the Horizon

Premier Colin Barnett has announced the disbandment of the Office of Energy.  Its replacement – the Public Utilities Office will initially provide policy advice regarding energy, but the Premier plans to increase its scope to the waste and water sectors. The new office will sit under the Department of Finance.

A review of recent newspaper articles shows mixed reaction to this announcement by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Minerals and Energy.   What are your thoughts?
